Living in the digital era, catching the best moments of time by photographing has become an easy task that can be done by anyone, at any time. However, taking photos casually might make the photos lack consideration of artistic details, such as angle of light, contour of the landscape and composition of the whole piece. Also, most of the time, as soon as there are “people” in the image, it can change the entire concept of it; people will naturally become the focus, therefore in an art creation, if “people” are involved, the work will often proceed in a totally different direction.
Back in the day, we recorded and memorized living creatures and still scenery by hand. There were everything from sculptures made for worshiping in the prehistoric era, to figure paintings and portraits showing religious symbols and the power of royalty during theocracy and the imperial ages. Some were made for showcasing , others for no particular reason, but they were all able to bring the moment to eternity. Through the continuous changes of skills and styles, every story behind the people has been told in various ways.
Within the topic “PEOPLE”, Artists are able to depict human beings by using different mediums and aspects. For me, as usual , I draw people with a needle pen and paper. There are different genders, looks and scenarios; some seem to be waiting for their lovers and some are simply having a daily casual conversation. Through art, we are able to reflect the real image of people in our hearts instead of merely being attracted by clothing and appearance, which brings our feeling into a profound area.
